We're looking for people to volunteer with their dogs in their community

Those of us with a dog in our lives know the difference they can make. We're on the lookout for people who would like to volunteer with their dog to help bring comfort, motivation and moments of joy to the people in their local community.

By volunteering with us as Volunteer Dog Team, you and your dog could work together to help individuals in your local community feel more confident, connected and supported in lots of different ways:

• Wellbeing walks, where you and your dog walk with small groups in your community, bringing companionship and gentle motivation
• Visits to care homes, schools or other community settings, bringing opportunities for people to connect with you, your dog, and each other, as well as moments of calm
• Home visits and befriending sessions with people who would benefit from the regular, consistent companionship of your dog
• Dog Days events, which are fun group sessions where several people and their dogs come together to create joyful shared experiences

If you have a kind and patient approach, are comfortable engaging with a wide range of people, and have a dog who is calm, sociable and gets joy out of meeting new people – we'd love to hear from you. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for you and your dog to work together to make a meaningful difference to the people in your community. We'll support you every step of the way, with a Volunteer Dog Team training programme, ongoing support and regular check-ins.

By volunteering as a Volunteer Dog Team, you'll deepen your understanding of your dog, gain new skills, and learn about the different ways dogs can assist people. You'll also become part of a friendly and supportive group of volunteers who love dogs just as much as you do.
