We urgently need more volunteers to care for our puppies and adolescent dogs before their expert training begins. We rely on our extended family of volunteers to help make life possible for many people.
We are excited to announce the expansion of our puppy scheme area to include Blackburn, Accrington, Rawtenstall, Darwen, Bolton, and surrounding areas. If you are interested in volunteering to raise a Dogs for Good puppy, please register your interest today. Full support and training are provided, and we cover the cost of food, vet bills, and insurance.

How we socialise our life-changing puppies
Although no experience is necessary, we ask that you are able to provide:
- Have a fully fenced safe and secure garden
- Not leave a puppy alone for longer than two hours (in their first few weeks with you) and no longer than four hours in a 24-hour period (for the remaining time they are with you
- You have no more than two pet dogs in the home
- Have 24-hour access to a car and/or driver for you and the puppy
- With the support of our Puppy Team, you can dedicate the time to train and socialise a puppy daily, including meeting their health and welfare needs. We ask you to be willing to teach a puppy the basics with guidance from our Co-ordinators. This will include house training, general obedience, and walking on the lead
- With support and guidance from our Puppy Team, introduce a puppy to typical environments, which could include shops, cafes, supermarkets, some public transport, and a mixture of both busy town and rural areas
- Willing to attend monthly puppy classes, with a combination of group visits and 121 home visits from a Puppy Co-Ordinator
- A workplace assessment may be requested if it is appropriate for a puppy to spend some time at your place of work
Food and vet bills are covered by the charity and full support and advice are provided by our team of Puppy Co-Ordinators.
