We stand for people and for dogs and the spectrum of
possibility that emerges when we bring them together.
At Dogs for Good, the support we offer each person or group of people we work with is unique. It always begins with us taking time to understand their needs and goals, so we can work out the best way to help based on the different things we do. Our aim is the same for everyone we support: to try to make sure they get the most from their connection with a dog.
CREATING ASSISTANCE DOG PARTNERSHIPS
We match people and our specially trained dogs to form life-changing partnerships.
Our assistance dogs offer both emotional and practical support, enabling people to better access the world, build confidence in their abilities and live fuller, more independent lives.
By gaining a deep understanding of every person, family and dog we work with, our expert team knows what’s needed to build strong connections so that each partnership can fulfil its potential.
FAMILY-FOCUSSED WORKSHOPS
We help people explore how deeper connections with a pet dog can benefit everyday life.
Our specially designed workshops provide a supportive learning space for better understanding a dog’s needs. Through these, we show how to build a stronger bond that can translate into much-needed emotional and practical support for families.
WORKING IN THE COMMUNITY
We create opportunities for people to feel supported through a connection with our specially trained dogs.
Our team of dogs, handlers and practitioners work closely with people in their communities, understanding how to help them achieve their goals over time. Many of our animal-assisted activities and treatments are created in partnership with specialist services — such as young people’s mental health, social care for adults who have learning disabilities, and dedicated support for people with dementia.
Each specially tailored session moves at a pace and level enabling people and our dogs to benefit from time spent together.
OUR RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY
We work with different partners to deepen our understanding of dogs and their capacity to form a mutually beneficial bond with us.
Our research and advocacy enables us to push the boundaries of our work, turning proven methods into positive impact for people, dogs and their communities.
We champion the welfare of all dogs, and the invaluable roles they can play in supporting people who’re less able to connect with their communities. And we advocate for a more inclusive, diverse and accessible society that recognises the contribution we can all make.
